Breaking Barriers on the Slopes: Empowering Youth

This past winter, our Crowley Foundation scholars experienced something truly transformative. A full day on the mountain learning to snowboard for the very first time. For many of these young men, it wasn’t just about carving through the snow; it was about breaking barriers, building confidence, and discovering new possibilities beyond their neighborhoods.

Through partnerships with Slide Through Sessions and generous community supporters, we provided full gear — boards, boots, helmets, and lift tickets — to students who had never before imagined themselves on the slopes. What began as hesitant first steps on the snow became moments of joy, teamwork, and self-belief.
