A Safe Home Should Never Be Out of Reach

Help Colorado homeowners stay safe, healthy, and independent in the homes they love.

Everyone deserves a safe place to call home. Yet for many low-income homeowners, one unexpected home repair can threaten their health, safety, financial stability, and ability to remain in their homes.

At Rebuilding Together Colorado (RTCO), we believe that safe homes and communities should be within reach for everyone. Since 1999, we have worked to repair homes, revitalize communities, and rebuild lives by providing essential home repairs at no cost to homeowners who need help the most.

Through our Emergency Home Repair program, we help low-income homeowners address urgent problems that cannot wait. A broken furnace in the middle of winter, a failing water heater, or a critical heating, plumbing, or safety issue can quickly turn a home into an unsafe place to live. For older adults, veterans, people with disabilities, and families living on limited incomes, the cost of these repairs can be overwhelming and often impossible to afford.

No one should have to choose between a safe home and other basic necessities.

Many of the homeowners we serve have worked hard throughout their lives to build stability for themselves and their families. Some are aging in place on fixed incomes. Others are facing unexpected financial hardships or managing health challenges that make a safe, functional home especially important. Without assistance, a necessary repair may go unaddressed, putting their well-being at risk and potentially forcing them from the homes and communities they know.

That is where RTCO steps in.

Our Emergency Home Repair program connects eligible homeowners with the critical repairs they need to remain safely in their homes. By addressing urgent problems before they become more serious, we help prevent further damage, protect homeowners' financial security, and preserve their independence and dignity.

But we cannot do this work alone.

The need for emergency home repairs continues to exceed the funding available to help. Every day a homeowner waits for an essential repair can mean continued discomfort, increased safety risks, or the possibility that a manageable problem will become a much more costly emergency. Our team works hard to respond to these needs, but our ability to help is limited by the resources available.

Your support can make a meaningful difference.

Every donation helps provide the resources needed to address urgent home repairs for a neighbor in need. Your generosity can help restore heat and hot water, resolve critical home safety concerns, and give homeowners peace of mind knowing they do not have to face these challenges alone.

Together, we can help older adults age safely at home, help veterans maintain their independence, and give vulnerable homeowners the opportunity to remain in the homes they love.

A safe home is more than a roof over someone's head. It is the foundation for health, stability, independence, and peace of mind.

Please make a gift today to support Rebuilding Together Colorado's Emergency Home Repair program. Your generosity helps turn an urgent need into a solution—and reminds our neighbors that their community cares.

We are beyond grateful to Kyle Clark, 9News for shining a spotlight on the work we do and those we assist.

Together, we can build a future where every person has a safe place to call home.
