Mission

[Re]pairing homes, [Re]vitalizing communities, [Re]building lives.

Background Statement

Rebuilding Together was born of the great American spirit of people coming together to help their neighbors in need. We help low-income homeowners improve the health and safety of their homes by providing essential repairs.

Rebuilding Together reflects the work and the partnership approach used by our organization in combining donated resources with a unique and rewarding volunteer experience to achieve meaningful change in our community.

Rebuilding Together Colorado, was founded in 1999. Originally named Rebuilding Together Metro Denver, in 2022 the service area was expanded into El Paso County and the name was changed to Rebuilding Together Colorado.

Over the years, RTCO has expanded its programs to provide year-round services, all focused around the core goal of helping low-income homeowners remain in their own homes safely for as long as possible.

From emergency repair services to major home modifications and repairs, as well as weatherization and energy efficient upgrades, all work is currently performed at no cost to low-income homeowners with priority given to older seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities. The primary goal of RTCO is to create homes that are safe and healthy, so that homeowners who are living on low and fixed incomes may age in place with dignity and independence.

Home repairs and safety modifications help make the home more accessible and prevent accidents. In the process of rebuilding homes, lives are transformed and neighborhoods revitalized. Repairs are performed primarily by volunteers with licensed professionals engaged for that work requiring a license.
