Bill's Fundraiser for Foresight

I am proud to support Foresight Adventure Guides for the Blind.  

I was blinded in 1991 during a random act of violence.  During my recovery, I remembered years earlier seeing a blind skier while on a college ski trip. Seven months after losing my sight I was back on skis. 

“Going skiing made a statement to my family, friends, employer, and myself, that I was not going to let blindness keep me down. I’ll never forget the exhilaration of the first turns on that first trip. Skiing today is part of who I am, and always a joyful experience.”

Foresight has been my go-to organization for the last 17 plus years.  The guides are consistently the best and employ the best safety protocols of anywhere I have skied.

I love Foresight’s emphasis on bringing young people who are blind or visually impaired up to the mountains for winter and summer adventures. Skiing blind taught me a lot about trusting others, asking for help, overcoming fear, and being courageous. And all while having a blast. I am happy to support giving blind kids an opportunity to gain these same insights.

Your donation to Foresight Adventure Guides will help:

• Fund our research supported ski program which provides guides for blind and low vision adults and Learn to Ski opportunities for youth with vision loss.
• Fund summer camp activities for youth with blindness or low vision including: rock climbing, hiking, stand up paddle boarding, horseback riding, and rafting. 
• Keep access to outdoor adventures affordable.  Foresight is committed to limiting financial barriers that may keep blind and low vision individuals from participating in programs such as ours.
• Support transportation, lodging and daily lunch during program days.
