No Cat Left Behind!

At Cat Care Society, we believe no cat should be turned away because their medical needs are too complex. Many shelters don’t have the capacity to care for chronically ill cats, especially diabetic cats who require daily care and expertise.

YOU are the reason we can say yes to the cats that no one else can.

Your compassion becomes an olive branch to the most fragile, overlooked, and vulnerable cats — offering safety, care, and hope when they need it most.

Olive’s Story

One year ago, Olive arrived from a partner shelter weighing barely five pounds, her whisper-soft meow the only sign of the fighter inside her. Her diabetes was dangerously unregulated.

She needed a full diagnostic workup, ultrasound, daily insulin and glucose checks, prescription food, and around-the-clock monitoring. Because of your generosity, we were able to welcome Olive with open arms.

Even as she ate, Olive was starving. Untreated diabetes prevents the body from turning food into energy, so hunger never stops, weight falls away, thirst becomes constant, and organs begin to fail. Still, Olive had a spark — mischievous, hopeful, stubborn — a spark worth fighting for.

This year, Olive’s 1-year shelter anniversary with Cat Care Society falls on Colorado Gives Day, December 9 — a full-circle moment that reminds us just how far your generosity can carry a fragile life.

Fighting Back

Olive earned the infamous “Terror Meter” on her door for her strong opinions about being poked. Blood sugar checks? Insulin time? Olive had notes. Our team had to get creative to complete her care.

Thanks to months of specialized care and the generosity of donors, Olive doubled her weight, her blood sugar is regulated, and her personality has blossomed. The little cat who arrived exhausted is now playful, affectionate, and wonderfully quirky, often supervising clinic procedures from her private room.

Give the Gift of Health

Cat Care Society’s work doesn’t end at stabilization. Every special-needs cat deserves a future, so we empower adopters with education and confidence to care for diabetic cats at home.

“We see our adopters as trusted partners…we are here to teach you...how to administer insulin, check daily blood glucoses, and talk about diet…Our goal is to make it as easy as possible to transition a diabetic cat into your home.” – Dr. Cecily Palamara, Chief Veterinarian

Your generosity provides insulin, prescription diets, glucose monitoring supplies, and expert medical care. Right now, we’re caring for six diabetic cats—twice the number we typically manage.

Today, your gift is an olive branch for cats like Olive to receive the care, stability, and future they deserve.

Olive’s care alone averaged $600/month — over $7,000 this year. Your support gives cats with nowhere else to turn a second chance at life.

Give today — for Olive, for her shelter anniversary milestone on Colorado Gives Day, and for every cat waiting for safety and hope.
