Colorado Pet Pantry

In the past year, we've distributed 5.1 million meals to dogs and cats whose families needed help with pet food. Please help us to keep dogs and cats with the families who love them. For every $5 raised, the Colorado Pet Pantry can feed a pet for a full month. We currently have 63 pet food banks!

Mission Statement

The Colorado Pet Pantry will temporarily feed Colorado pets, allowing families to increase their ability to care for pets with the goal of keeping them out of shelters and with their families.

Organization History

The Colorado Pet Pantry dba Animal Haus is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and contributions are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. Our EIN is 45-4210185.

The Colorado Pet Pantry pet food bank tested the waters in 2013 with a bi-monthly pet food bank at one "human" food bank partner. Once we established that the interest and need were significant, we quickly ramped up to four monthly pet food banks in 2014. During 2015 and 2016, the pet food bank held 5 monthly pet food banks in the Denver/Boulder-metro areas, serving each neighborhood once per month with the goal of ensuring that all families in a neighborhood have the resources to consistently feed their pets, keeping them out of shelters. In 2017, we grew to 15 pet food bank locations.

In March 2018, Colorado Pet Pantry merged with a separate local pet food bank called Animal Haus, to combine efforts and help even more people and pets. Prior to its spin-off in March 2018, Colorado Pet Pantry was a project of the Colorado Nonprofit Development Center (CNDC).

As of November 2020, we now have 63 pet food bank locations. In addition we run the Emergency Pet Food Assistance Program to bridge the gap for clients until our next monthly pet food bank and the Animal Welfare Share Program where we partner with 90+ local animal organizations to share supplies.

Testimonials

"You have done so much to help me!" - Holly, 4 cats
"Colorado Pet Pantry does an amazing job supporting the community and local animal rescue organizations. Thank you for all you do!" - Amy, HoBo Boxer Rescue
"Thank you for all that you do helping people feed their beloved pets. You have gone above and beyond helping find prescription food for Grimlin." - Amanda with Grimlin the cat
"It's a godsend that Colorado Pet Pantry is there for people to help feed their pets. One of my dogs has severe food allergies and without the pet pantry it would be impossible for me to feed her without help what she eats is very expensive and on my low income I couldn't afford to feed her. My cat and other dog have some minor food allergies but the pet pantry has them covered too. Thank you from the bottom of my heart." - Roseanne, 3 pets
"I have used CPP and found the volunteers very dedicated and enthusiastic! The pet food that was provided to me was of high quality, and so I didn't have to worry about my senior animals. I am very thankful for your organization!" - Sheila Ann
