Hi! This is Tricia. I founded The Family Systems Collaborative (FSC), and I’m excited to share what this organization is all about—and what it will take to bring it fully to life.

The Family Systems Collaborative is launching with a clear and urgent mission: to provide skilled, trauma-informed legal support and advocacy for children who are involved in or affected by legal proceedings. Whether a child is a formal party to the case or simply caught in the middle—such as during divorce, mediation, custody disputes, or broader family transitions—FSC ensures their needs, experiences, and well-being are meaningfully considered.

As a legally educated social worker with years of experience in child welfare, family systems, and advocacy, I am stepping into this work full-time to ensure that children’s experiences are understood through both a clinical and legal lens.

To do this effectively and sustainably, we aim to raise $150,000–$175,000 in our first year. This funding will support a full-time executive director (me), who provides direct case involvement and leads all programmatic work, as well as essential infrastructure such as a donor system, website, outreach materials, and a small launch campaign.

Every dollar raised helps build a strong, ethical foundation—one rooted in transparency, compassion, and the belief that children deserve thoughtful representation and advocacy, no matter the type of case surrounding them.

Mission

Our mission is to strengthen child representation by embedding skilled social workers into the legal teams across Denver and the surrounding areas.

Background Statement

The Family Systems Collaborative is a nonprofit dedicated to ensuring every child involved in the legal system receives skilled, trauma-informed advocacy. We partner with legal professionals throughout the Denver metro area, offering social work expertise and case support to help children and families navigate complex family dynamics. Our goal is simple: to strengthen child representation so every child is truly respected, seen, heard, and supported with both expertise and heart.

LESW—Legally Educated Social Worker—captures both the founder’s professional identity and the vision behind our work: any case affecting a child deserves the guidance of a skilled social worker on the team. At The Family Systems Collaborative, we are committed to exceptional child representation grounded in compassion, collaboration, and deep professional knowledge.

For the past three years, the founder served as a case consultant for the state, gaining a rich understanding of our local communities and the challenges families face. This unique experience and perspective shape the foundation of our organization and the support we provide.
