Build engaged communities by promoting the pursuit of ethical journalism.

Freedom of expression is the cornerstone of our democratic society, and the Denver Press Club is dedicated to promoting strong and independent journalism for the future by maintaining one of Colorado's last dedicated gathering places for civil discourse and the exchange of ideas

Your contribution to the Denver Press Club is an investment that supports:

  • Scholarships for journalism students enrolled in Colorado colleges or universities.
  • Maintaining our historic building at 1330 Glenarm Place in downtown Denver, a National Register of Historic Places institution and one of the last civic spaces of its kind in the United States.
  • 100+ open-to-the-public workshops, forums, debates, panels, programs, and discussions that strengthen democracy by connecting newsmakers, journalists, and the communities whom they serve.

Since 1867, journalists, civic leaders and history makers have gathered here. Your contribution ensures the Club will continue this legacy as a vibrant part of Denver’s journalistic and Colorado's historic landscapes, and is tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law.

Giving Activity

Mission

The Denver Press Club exists to foster and further the work of the free press, where the honest and open discussion of the issues of the day are encouraged in an environment of respect and dignity, where all members and guests feel welcome.

Background Statement

The Denver Press Club is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and club that was founded in 1867 to support journalism and journalists in Colorado.

As the nation’s oldest press club, now, more than ever, we are needed to help strengthen journalism while educating on issues that protect and encourage an empowered Fourth Estate.

If the truth matters, and if democracy matters, then free, informed, engaging and open conversation matters.

Our building — honored on the National Register of Historic Places — serves as the home for this mission-driven work. It's where thousands of Coloradans connect to newsmakers, scholarships, events, workshops, and celebrations that build community.

The Denver Press Club is a place where conversations begin, where the truth matters, and where all are welcome.

In a world where places like that are under constant threat, your support keeps our doors open. We need your help today.
