Women of the Summit was founded in 1982 by a group of local businesswomen who were seeking the same things our local community is seeking today: Friendship, Resources, and Philanthropy. We continue this vision today through:
COMMUNITY: Fostering connections that matter on a personal and professional level.
SUPPORT: Supporting Summit County women with resources, opportunities, and mentorship.
PHILANTHROPY: The revenue earned from our membership, events, and fundraising initiatives goes to our Women In Business Grant. This grant provides financial support for businesswomen in Summit County.
EDUCATION: Creating space for educational content that reflect the needs of the current population as it grows and evolves.
Our Mission is to create a community that connects and champions women in Summit County, Colo.
Women of the Summit was founded in 1982 by a group of local businesswomen who were seeking the same things our local community is seeking today: Friendship, Resources, and Philanthropy.
Back then, the main show in town was Rotary International, who were unfortunately barred from allowing women into their chapter.* Not to be deterred, these women "built their own table" and formed a local non-profit dedicated to establishing, promoting, and supporting the women of Summit County Colorado to thrive in business and in life.
That mission still speaks to the hearts and minds of the local community today and is the foundation and inspiration of everything we do.
