We train hope. We save lives. Since 2015, not one veteran in our program has been lost to suicide.

About Victory Service Dogs

In Colorado, veterans die by suicide at rates far higher than the national average. Behind every statistic is a life — a family, a story, and a hero who deserves purpose, connection, and hope.

Victory Service Dogs (VSD) exists to change that story. Founded in 2015, we empower Colorado veterans, first responders, and children with disabilities through the life-changing bond between person and service dog. Our unique, client-focused training program gives each veteran a new mission: to train and grow with their dog — rebuilding confidence, community, and meaning one step at a time.

And the results speak for themselves: since our inception, we have not lost a single veteran in our program to suicide. More than 200 veterans have found renewed purpose through Victory Service Dogs — men and women who once felt isolated now finding strength in training, pride in progress, and a reason to keep moving forward.

Many of our graduates have gone on to complete college degrees, start new careers, reconnect with their families, and re-engage in their communities — always with their loyal service dog by their side. Every team represents not just a life changed, but a life saved.

Every donation fuels this mission — pairing rescued dogs with deserving veterans and ensuring that hope, healing, and purpose continue to thrive here in Colorado. Together, we can honor their service by helping them rediscover their will to live, lead, and love again.

Mission

The mission of Victory Service Dogs is to improve the quality of life for veterans with PTSD or other mental or mobility issues through the partnership with a loving service dog, so they can achieve a more fulfilling life of increased independence, purpose, and dignity.

Background Statement

Victory Service Dogs (VSD) was founded in 2015 by Colorado veterans who understood firsthand the invisible wounds of service — and the healing power of purpose, partnership, and unconditional loyalty. Our mission is simple but life-changing: to dramatically improve the quality of life for U.S. military veterans living with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), traumatic brain injuries, and other mental or physical challenges by pairing them with service dogs and providing the training and support to succeed together.

For many veterans, a service dog isn’t a luxury — it’s a lifeline. Yet professionally trained service dogs often cost between $20,000 and $30,000, a price that puts hope out of reach for too many. At Victory Service Dogs, we remove that barrier by providing financial sponsorships, community partnerships, and a training model that keeps costs minimal. We provide a model that can pair a service member and a service dog for little to no cost. Service members can even bring their own dog to train through our program — reducing expenses further while strengthening the bond with a trusted companion already by their side.

Our 18–24 month, client-focused training program is built around teamwork: the veteran and the dog train together at every stage. This approach fosters structure, purpose, and confidence — for both partners. As the dog learns new skills, the veteran gains stability, trust, and a renewed sense of mission.

Since our founding, Victory Service Dogs has empowered more than 200 veterans to reclaim their independence, reconnect with their communities, and rediscover hope. Most profoundly, since our inception, not one veteran in our program has been lost to suicide.
