$50,000 Goal
This Gives Day, we are asking 50 people to donate $500 as we set our sights on transformational progress across the region through our SPUR program. SPUR stands for Special Projects Uniquely Responsive, which is our way of giving back to current timely community needs in Southwest Colorado.
In years prior, the SPUR Fund gave to programs and nonprofits including: Human services and essential needs, family violence prevention, youth education and opportunities, and so much more.
Our wonderful fiscal projects, found on our featured campaigns, are a donation opportunity as well. Support local nonprofits, your cause, and community through Colorado Gives Today!

The Community Foundation serving Southwest Colorado facilitates the growth and effectiveness of philanthropic contributions and expands the culture of giving to meet the needs of our community.
The Community Foundation serving Southwest Colorado is committed to connecting the dots to ensure our community is a great place to live, work, and play. We facilitate connections between donors and nonprofits, helping to align the stars to illuminate Southwest Colorado's generosity. Local nonprofits in Southwest Colorado are what we orbit around, because we value the community impact they make each and every day.
For over 25 years, we have made it our mission to share our time, talent, and treasured resources with the nonprofits that are making a difference in our community. Through our collaboration, nonprofits in Southwest Colorado can flourish.
In the mid-1990s, nonprofits across Southwest Colorado were facing a common problem, traditional funding was drying up. Federal and state support had shrunk significantly, local businesses were stretched thin, and organizations were requiring noticeably more resources for fundraisers that still came up short.
The Community Foundation structure offered a new solution. Donors were interested in giving through a well-managed foundation that valued their intent while investing in their community and market. After extensive research and community input, the Community Foundation Serving Southwest Colorado was established as a Colorado 501(c)(3) in 1997.
Today, we house more than 100 charitable giving funds and manage over $13 million on behalf of this region. In order to facilitate the growth and effectiveness of philanthropic contributions and expand the culture of giving to meet the needs of our community.
