Running Rivers is a 100% volunteer-led organization, a small group of Coloradans (and Iowans) who are passionate about improving our states’ naturally functioning waterbodies and creating new ways to sustainably enjoy them. Our programs create unique opportunities for people to experience public lands and waters in novel and fun ways, to expand their depth of understanding of the importance of healthy functioning native fish ecosystems, and to invest in their time, money, and sweat through on-the-ground stewardship projects.

Conservation through Recreation!

From all of us at Running Rivers, we thank you for your support.  Your donation will significantly increase our ability to inspire others to engage in the active protection of our public lands and waters.

Mission

At Running Rivers, our mission is to conserve and restore native fish ecosystems by educating and inspiring a diverse community of recreationists to engage in conservation through responsible and thoughtful recreation, informed advocacy and philanthropy, and impactful projects.

Background Statement

Since 2014, through our flagship program (the Flyathlon), we have brought together more than 900 people to recreate on spectacular streams in remote parts of Colorado, Iowa, and North Carolina. In the process, our race participants have raised more that $650,000 for on-the-ground native fish conservation projects executed with our Federal, State, and other not-for-profit conservation partners.
