Pawsitive Pathways

A nonprofit organization

$795 raised by 7 donors

Pawsitive Pathways exists to save the forgotten dogs of rural Colorado - dogs in underfunded, overcrowded shelters where adoption opportunities are few and euthanasia risk is high. We focus on rescue, rehabilitation, education, and community support to create long-term, meaningful change for rural dogs and the people who love them.

This Giving Tuesday, we’re working toward two essential next steps:

  • Building our own facility on 40 acres we’ve already secured in southeastern Colorado, allowing us to take in more dogs and expand our programs.
  • Securing a dedicated transport van so we can safely reach and relocate dogs from remote areas where resources are limited.

Your support today helps us save more rural Colorado dogs and strengthen the communities that care for them.

Giving Activity

Mission

To save dogs from rural, underfunded, and overcrowded Colorado shelters; places where adoption is unlikely and the risk of euthanasia is high due to limited space, scarce resources, or restrictive municipal codes. By focusing on rehabilitation, education, and advocacy, we aim to create lasting change for all rural Colorado dogs and the communities that care for them.

Background Statement

Pawsitive Pathways is a small but mighty nonprofit based in rural Kim, Colorado. Founded in 2022 by dog trainer and behaviorist Brandie Jackson and animal welfare advocate Lynn Gerber, we began as a grassroots effort to help at-risk dogs in underserved, underfunded, and overcrowded shelters. What started as a family-led passion project, quickly grew into a PACFA certified, 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a proven record of saving lives and creating lasting change for rural dogs and their communities. In only three years with just a few team members total, we have rescued and placed more than 120 dogs into loving homes and helped save 250+ more from euthanasia, abandonment, or surrender - through transport, networking, and resource-sharing.
