OUR&D enables effective climate action through innovation.
New technologies must be developed to stop climate change, but traditional funding often runs dry. OUR&D is a unique climate solutions fund addressing the most critical issue of the climate crisis: the need for innovation. Our grassroots-powered research grants enable community-backed climate solutions by supporting scientific research. OUR&D's unique approach to research funding reaches a broader pool of applicants, including historically underrepresented research groups; removes barriers to entry; and simplifies the funding process, allowing scientists to do what they do best: science!
By unlocking the power of philanthropy to fight climate change, OUR&D gives everyone the power to change the future. Consider joining OUR&D and support science for a sustainable and carbon-free future.
Working with OUR&D is a "breath of fresh air."

OUR&D, the climate solutions foundation, empowers everyone to directly support the development of new technologies that will lead to a sustainable and carbon-free future.
Founded in 2016 by NREL scientists, OUR&D addresses a serious problem in the scientific community: limited funding for research prevents new technology development, which is critical in the fight against climate change.
From the beginning, OUR&D set the standard for a new kind of science philanthropy organization. Since then, OUR&D has grown into the only grassroots-backed research foundation enabling everyone to have a direct impact on the future of our planet.
