Purpose:
To get students and graduates to financial freedom through gainful, rewarding employment.
Vision:
To create a capable talent pipeline by algorithmically connecting students with strong employment opportunities, and by providing leadership, business, and professional skills that enhance a graduate’s career trajectory. The leadership, business, and professional skills improve a graduate’s career trajectory while providing talented, promotion-worthy employees to employers.
Values:
GlobalMindED’s Success Network believes that every person deserves access to resources, networks, and job opportunities that can actualize their gifts, talents, and abilities in their unique career path, fulfilling their full potential. We strive is to give a voice to students co-creating solutions with them and for them, through our vast network of generous and supportive leaders.
GlobalMindED was founded in 2014 in Denver, Colorado. It is now grown to support students throughout the United States. Our mission is to improve college completion and employment attainment through role models, mentors, internships, experiences and jobs providing students with the personal and professional know-how to fulfill any ambition they desire.
We provide first-generation students with resources, networks, mentors, experiential learning, connections to role models, internships, and jobs. We offer the following programs: the First Generation Leadership Program, the Ambassador Program/College Collaborative, a United Nations annual event, an Annual Conference here in Denver, Colorado, and other stakeholder forums that champion the importance of preparing young people for career promotion pathways both during and after college graduation.
According to the Strata Education/Burning Glass Institute, “college is not working for most – 52% of graduates are underemployed a year after graduation, and a decade later, 45% are.” Solving for this has been our purpose since inception. We play an integral role in bringing significant economic benefits locally and nationally by collaborating with institutions of higher education, corporations, philanthropy, and other key partners to build a student leadership-to-employment pipeline, primarily from historically underserved/underrepresented BIPOC communities, for leadership positions in STEM, business, finance, education, and healthcare. For example, students participating in the First Gen Leadership and Mentoring Program are invited to attend an all-day leadership training and a Career Exploration Industry Marketplace at the GlobalMindED Annual Conference. During the conference, students engage with thought leaders from across industries and Fortune 500 companies, gaining insights into various career paths and meeting available professional mentors.
