Background Statement

Established 1947: The Need for Continued Support

Founded in 1947, Gilpin Arts has been a cornerstone of artistic enrichment and cultural vitality in our community for nearly eight decades. Throughout its history, the organization has fostered creativity, provided a platform for local and regional artists, and brought the visual arts to residents and visitors alike. Our initiatives include art exhibitions, educational workshops, community outreach, and special events that celebrate the diverse talents and rich artistic heritage of the region.

Despite our longstanding tradition of service and impact, Gilpin Arts faces significant financial challenges. The costs of maintaining facilities, supporting artists, and presenting high-quality programming continue to rise. Without additional funding, our ability to operate and fulfill our mission is at risk. We rely on the generous support of individuals, businesses, and community partners to ensure that Gilpin Arts remains an accessible and vibrant resource for all.

Your support is essential to our continued success. By contributing to Gilpin Arts, you help preserve a legacy of creativity and community engagement that began in 1947 and ensure that future generations can experience the transformative power of the arts.
