Mission: In response to Jesus Christ's call to affirm the value and dignity of each human life, build solidarity within the community, and advocate for justice for the poor and vulnerable, Catholic Charities of Central Colorado humbly engages in the ministry of charity for those in both economic and spiritual poverty so that all - staff, volunteers, and clients - may fully achieve their God-given potential.

Jeremiah Overcomes His Grief - Help with Housing, Case Management, and Counseling
Jeremiah’s wife died from an aneurysm when their son was four. Overwhelmed by grief, he lost his job and their apartment. Without childcare or a way to work, they lived in his car.
“I was grieving so bad, I didn’t know how to function.”
For years, Jeremiah and his son stayed in relatives’ homes, motels, rented vans, and a storage unit. After finding work, Jeremiah sometimes walked six hours a day to keep his income. His son’s school referred them to Catholic Charities.
Jeremiah wasn’t ready to accept more help at first. Later, he reconnected with Catholic Charities and his case manager, Maria.
“She came alongside me and encouraged me. She saw my inner strength and helped me to see it too. She believed in me before I knew I was worth believing in.”
Maria helped with budgeting, transportation, and housing, and encouraged Jeremiah to seek counseling.
Jeremiah began counseling through Catholic Charities. With Maria’s help, he secured a two-bedroom apartment through Partners in Housing. Catholic Charities assisted with the first month’s rent and food.
Eventually, Jeremiah purchased a car with his tax return, making work, school, and appointments manageable and giving him more time with his children.
Today, his son is doing well in school, and Jeremiah continues to heal and build a future for his family.
“They gave me the support I needed to push through and overcome my barriers.”
“It’s still not easy,” he says. “But I know I’m capable. And I’m going to see it through.”
Julia Finds Stability - Help with Housing, Nutrition, and Case Management
When Julia and her children moved into Hunt Family Housing in November 2025, they were ready for a new beginning. After leaving an abusive relationship with little more than their clothes, the family had spent nearly a year in a shelter.
Julia wanted safety, stability, and a better future for her children. But without a high school diploma, reliable childcare, or consistent income, she faced significant barriers.
At Hunt Family Housing, a Catholic Charities life coach helped Julia develop a plan. Weekly sessions offered encouragement, accountability, and support as she worked toward her goals.
With safe housing, Julia could focus on rebuilding. She began an unpaid apprenticeship at a local business which allowed her to balance motherhood with career goals. Her dedication impressed her mentors, who encouraged her to pursue a future in the industry.
Catholic Charities’ clothing closet provided essential items for her children, easing immediate needs while Julia worked toward independence.
In February, Julia completed her licensing requirement, allowing her to operate her own booth and build a client base. Earning income brought her closer to financial stability.
With continued support, Julia secured childcare, built savings, and searched for permanent housing. By the time she completed the program, she had achieved all three goals. Her family moved into an affordable apartment, ready to begin their next chapter.
Julia’s determination, supported by safe housing and compassionate guidance, helped her build a foundation for her family—a place where she and her children could move forward with stability, independence, and hope.

Catholic Charities - At Work in the Community
We offer a wide range of services to assist families and individuals, honoring the dignity of everyone we serve with impactful programming. One of our most recognizable long-standing programs is our daily meal service.
Marian House Kitchen - For more than 40 years, Catholic Charities has served a multi-course, sit-down meal every single day of the year. In FY25/26, we served 15,085 meals at the Marian House Kitchen.
As an agency, we look for new ways to assess, augment, and improve the services we deliver. We also add programming in response to the evolving needs of our community.
Hunt Family Housing - Since August 2025, this program provides much-needed family housing. We are operating at full capacity with 24 safe, furnished units. Since opening, we have housed 37 families with 129 people, including 81 children.
