Cat Care Durango

Every cat deserves to be treated with dignity, compassion, and love - regardless of age, ability, or condition

At Cat Care Durango, we believe every cat deserves the chance to feel safe, be cared for, and live a life filled with comfort and kindness.

More than a shelter, we are a free-roaming rescue and sanctuary dedicated to cats of all ages and needs. From fragile newborn kittens who require round-the-clock care to senior cats with complex medical conditions, we meet each cat where they are, providing the patience, skilled care, and compassion they need to thrive. For some, that means finding a loving forever home. For others, it means having a safe, peaceful place to spend the rest of their lives.

Since opening our doors in 2023, the generosity of our supporters has helped us rescue and care for more than 475 cats and kittens, with over 400 finding permanent homes. Those who cannot be adopted because of age, medical needs, or other challenges are not forgotten. They remain part of our family, receiving the ongoing care, comfort, and security they deserve.

Here in Southwest Colorado, the need for this kind of care continues to grow. Affordable veterinary services and spay and neuter resources can be difficult to access, veterinary costs continue to rise, and opportunities for cats to find homes are limited. Too many cats are left vulnerable, abandoned, or without the care they need. Every day, we see the difference that having a safe place to turn can make.

That is Where You Come In.

Your Colorado Gives donation helps provide the essentials that make this work possible: nutritious food, medications, veterinary treatment, and the daily hands-on care that keeps our cats healthy and comfortable. Your generosity helps us respond when a vulnerable kitten needs a chance, when a cat arrives needing medical attention, and when a senior cat needs more than a temporary place to land.

Every gift helps us say yes to the cats who need us most — and allows us to make a commitment not just to their immediate needs, but to their long-term well-being. Because caring for a cat means more than getting them through today. It means being there for them tomorrow, next month, and for as long as they need us.

When you give to Cat Care Durango, your donation goes toward the real, everyday work of protecting and caring for cats who might otherwise have nowhere to turn. You help us provide second chances, lasting comfort, and the promise that every cat matters.

Together, we can give more cats the safety, care, and future they deserve.
