Bright Start Learning Center

A nonprofit organization

Every morning, children step through the doors of Bright Start Learning Center ready to learn, explore, and feel loved. That joy is at the heart of everything we do.

What makes Bright Start special isn’t just the classrooms or the curriculum, it’s the community inside. Our families trust us, lean on us, and celebrate with us. Over time, they become part of our family.

We currently serve children 12 months through 7 years old We are the only licensed toddler care provider in Lake county. Our dream is to continue expanding so we can support infants one day, more toddlers and preschoolers in a time of critical learning and development.

We are incredibly proud of the team behind this work. Our teachers are dedicated, passionate, and pursuing continued education in early childhood development. Thanks to their commitment, we are experiencing our strongest staff retention yet. A stability that makes a world of difference for the children we serve.

This year, we celebrated a huge milestone: we expanded and opened a new classroom in August, allowing us to welcome more little learners. We’re just getting started. With continued community support, we hope to continue to grow, more classrooms, more opportunities, and more families served.

Because every child deserves a nurturing place where they are seen, supported, and encouraged to shine.

At Bright Start Learning Center, we are building the future. One relationship, one teacher, and one child at a time. 💛

Giving Activity

Mission

Our mission is to provide a safe, developmentally appropriate, high-quality care and educational environment for children 1-7 years of age in all domains of learning. By using a whole-child approach, our experienced and trained educators will work collaboratively with families to build a bridge between community, home, and school, and will use evidence-based strategies and curriculum to prepare children for a successful Kindergarten experience.

Background Statement

🌿 Our Story

In a small mountain community like Lake County, access to licensed, year-round childcare is not just a convenience, it is essential for families to live and work here.

Bright Start Learning Center is proud to be the only licensed, year-round childcare provider in Lake County, and the only licensed provider serving toddlers. We care for children from 12 months through age 7, walking alongside families during some of the most important and formative years of their child’s life.

Every day, our classrooms are filled with laughter, discovery, and nurturing relationships. We believe early childhood is not simply preparation for school, it is the foundation for confidence, resilience, and a lifelong love of learning.

Yet our community has a growing need. There are currently no licensed infant providers in Lake County. Families with babies often face impossible choices delaying a return to work, piecing together unreliable care, or leaving the community altogether.

Our dream is to grow our toddler program and expand to offer licensed infant care, ensuring that families have safe, high-quality early learning options from the very beginning.

As a nonprofit, every gift helps us strengthen classrooms, support teachers, and expand access for families who depend on us. When you support Bright Start, you are not just donating to a center, you are investing in the future of Lake County’s children and the stability of our community.
