Amici Cannis is a nonprofit veterinary organization based in Cotacachi, Ecuador, dedicated to saving the lives of street and community animals who have no one else to care for them. Founded in 2015 by two Colorado veterinarians, a husband and wife team who moved from Fort Collins after witnessing the immense suffering of animals in Ecuador, Amici Cannis was born from their deep conviction that they had the skills and compassion to be part of the solution.

Since then, we’ve provided free and low-cost veterinary services, including spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations, parasite control, and emergency care to over 50,000 dogs and cats. In a region where access to veterinary care is limited or nonexistent, our team works tirelessly to reach the most vulnerable animals, including those in remote Indigenous villages. We never turn a street animal away. Every life matters.

Your support helps us continue this mission, reducing suffering, improving public health, and building a more compassionate community for animals and people alike.
