Providing HOPE

I have worked with victims of domestic violence and sexual assault for more than 30 years. I'm asked how I've been able to do this work for so long because it is hard work, the experiences of those I've had the privilege to work with are gut-wrenching and for those not impacted, truly understanding the complexities of this kind of victimization is difficult.

What keeps me in this work is HOPE! HOPE for people I work with and for. HOPE for more understanding, acceptance and compassion. HOPE that I see everyday in the eyes and hearts of the survivors...their HOPE put into action.

At the Crisis Center, that is what is offered - HOPE! Hope for a safe place to stay. Hope for a compassionate person to listen and walk with survivors. Hope that things will get better. Hope for the strength and resiliency that has always been there, but has been undermined by violence, trauma and fear. Hope for the children who live in despair.

$90 provides a safe place for a victim and their children to stay for a night
$150 provides therapy to a survivor
$65 provides a month of legal advocacy
$100 keeps the 24- hour Crisis Line available for a month
