For 35 years the Crisis Center has been working to end domestic violence through advocacy, prevention and education. This has included providing safe shelter for victims and their children who must leave their home in order to be safe. This difficult decision for victims is made harder when they have pets since we do not have the facilities to accommodate animals. Many victims leave their pets behind where they face abuse or even death.
You can help us change this. We are creating a pet shelter so that our clients with domesticated pets can remain together while staying at our emergency shelter. There, they can work together to heal from the abuse and trauma they have experienced.
