Youth of the Year is a national Boys and Girls Clubs of America program that allows kids to tell their story and illustrate how the clubs have helped them get to where they are now and eventually to where they want to go in life.

This year, the NATIONAL Youth the Year Winner came from Denver, CO and our very own Boettcher Club in Aurora. Malachi now a freshman at Colorado State University studying Kinesiology, won the 2018 National Youth of the Year competition. As a result of the win, he received a $100,000 scholarship and the title of National Spokesman for the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.

This program's impact on young people cannot be measured. It also takes a ton of vounteeer time to coach these young kids, volunteer judges, and tremendous funding to help pay for scholarships and prizes at each stage of the competition.

For the past 3 years, each Monday, my friend Steve Korell and I have gone to the Jefferson County Boys & Girls Clubs to work with our middle and high school kids to help them tell their story. I've had a chance to see these kids grow up, to learn their story and see how it has evolved year after year. No words can describe the impact this event has on our group and no words describe the impact working with them has on Steve and I.

Please consider donating today to support our club kids in their mission to be the next Youth of the Year national champion and help fund their college dreams. I promise you, it is the best donation spend you will ever make.

On behalf of Steve, myself and our club kids .... THANK YOU!
