Mission

The extinguishing and prevention of fires both wildland and structural. Provide Emergency Medical Services, to those within the defined area of RCVFD

Background Statement

In April 1975, over 6 dozen local residents met to discuss the need for a fire department. The homes and structures were in an area not located within any fire protection district. Those first firefighters were some 25 men and women who served an area of over 38 square miles. Our firefighters and EMTs now number over 35, and the original area has grown to over 110 square miles.

RCVFD began as an ALL volunteer and 100% donation-based department, and that has been a point of pride for almost 50 years.
