Mission
Hope House Northern Colorado empowers parenting teenage moms to strive for personal and economic self-sufficiency and to understand their significance in God's sight, resulting in a healthy future for them, and for their children.
Background Statement
Hope House Colorado identified the need for resources for teen moms and opened its residential center in Arvada in 2003 and launched a variety of programming over the following 10 years including a GED program, College and Career program, classes in parenting and relationships, counseling, and an Early Learning program.
In northern Colorado, Colleen Emery was involved with a teen mom mentoring program for a number of years and identified the need for continuing support once moms in that program left high school. Through a series of serendipitous encounters, she connected with Hope House Colorado, discussed potential collaboration structures with the organization in 2018-2019, and launched the first Hope House affiliate, Hope House Northern Colorado, in 2020. Also in 2020, Hope House Northern Colorado was granted a 501(c)3 designation and started providing direct emergency support to teen moms in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
