Three Decades of Impact, the Next 30 Years Start with You

Focus Points Family Resource Center provides families with the tools they need to build their future and contribute to a vibrant community. We deliver culturally attuned wraparound services, resources, and referrals to meet the unique needs of families in the North Denver Globeville and Elyria-Swansea (GES) neighborhoods, Commerce City, and the surrounding areas.

Together, we can continue to support families as they learn, grow, and achieve!

Focus Points’ programming falls into four main pillars:

  • Family Support: Advancing family sustainability through classes and guidance, using a goal-setting and strengths-based approach
  • Community Resources: Connecting people to resources in order to advance health equity, financial stability, networks, and community
  • Education: Catalyzing success for children and adults by providing training and skill-building opportunities
  • Economic Inclusion: Promoting long-term financial stability by preparing adults with the tools, skills, and connections they need to participate fully in the workforce

Focus Points' nationally recognized work is guided by a two-generation (2Gen) approach, an evidence-based framework from the Annie E. Casey Foundation and the Aspen Institute. The 2Gen approach intentionally supports children and caregivers together, addressing education, health, and economic stability as interconnected parts of family well-being.

This approach has proven effective within our community. Parents who strengthen their skills and confidence create more consistent environments for their children. Families who first connect to Focus Points for emergency support often continue engaging in classes, events, and other opportunities. Over time, this continued connection to support strengthens community networks and contributes to a more equitable and resilient Denver.

For 30 years, Focus Points has worked with families as they build stability for a brighter future. As we look to the future, we remain committed to the belief that when families have what they need to thrive, the whole community grows stronger with them. Join us in empowering families and continuing the legacy!

Supporting Denver Families Since 1995

From its very beginning, Focus Points Family Resource Center has been powered by the community — founded by neighbors for neighbors — and continues to strengthen lives across northeast Denver and beyond. Focus Points is a beacon of community strength dedicated to enhancing lives in northeast Denver and surrounding areas. Focus Points provides unique, community-driven, and culturally aware programs so families may pursue their goals and thrive.

Programs include one-on-one family advocacy support to assist families in setting and achieving goals on the journey to personal and family sustainability; coordination of access to community resources; early childhood education through home visitation and evidence-based curricula; health and nutrition through Huerta Urbana, our urban farm and pay-what-you-can farmers market, which increases access to fresh produce and combats food insecurity.

Focus Points is one of 33 Family Resource Centers in Colorado and a member of the Family Resource Center Association (FRCA). What began as a small neighborhood effort has grown into a trusted community resource that reaches nearly 3,000 people each year. The majority of program participants are Spanish-speaking immigrants, members of the Latinx community, and/or resettled refugees.
