The purpose of the conference is to connect community with data, particularly the underserved, communities of color, and other marginalized groups who disproportionately face inequities.
The ongoing objectives of the Culture of Data conference are to identify and utilize the collection of health data on racial and ethnic populations that will impact health policy and the delivery of health services. Second, to influence research by enhancing the data collection and dissemination process for communities experiencing health disparities. Third, to develop and cultivate relationships and partnerships between communities and researchers seeking to achieve health equity.
The conference aims to provide a forum for attendees to explore currently available health/demographic data to drive community based decision making. It will bring together and connect community based organizations with health data partners. One will be able to collaborate about best practices for data use and analytics to understand health equity. Lastly, to build the skills and knowledge for each data user level to understand health inequities and use this in future work and collaboration.
We had about 214 people participate in this year's event.
