Support Children and Youth Impacted by Foster Care

Our mission: Elevating Connections is dedicated to building sustained positive relationships for current and former youth in foster care-including those experiencing sibling separation-to use their voice and build meaningful community connections.

Our programming: Elevating Connections creates events and arts workshops for children and youth to connect with themselves, one another, and to feel a sense of belonging and community.  We also run a week-long summer camp for siblings separated in their foster care placements. 

Who EC serves: Siblings, children, youth, and young adults across Colorado that have experienced or been impacted by foster care.  

JUDY'S WHY:  My personal mission is to create and sustain community.  YOU all are part of that community.  Elevating Connections has the same mission to create sustained healthy Community and Connection for those for whom it is not a given. 

I have been brought to tears seeing youth speak their truth, tell their story and know they have been heard through the Elevating Connection Poetry Jam.  I have seen separated siblings have the kind of time together to truly create their family at Camp Connect and Connecting Events.  I have seen policy impacted by older youth speaking their truth to lawmakers helping create the Sibling Bill of Rights.  Elevating Connections programming makes a difference.

In short, the work of Elevating Connections inspires me to want to engage YOU, my larger community, in their work. 

How you can help: Help support our Colorado Gives fundraiser with a one-time or monthly recurring donation.  Our total goal this year is $25,000.  All new monthly recurring donation sign ups will have a one-time dollar-for-dollar match (up to $100) by the Colorado Gives Foundation, if donated anytime between November 1st-December 5th.  This is our most vital fundraiser of the year, ensuring that our programming can continue and that we can expand even more of our youth voice programming in 2024.
