The Arapahoe Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is joining with the ECDC African Community Center (ACC) to assist a family who has fled persecution in their homeland. This family has the same hopes and dreams for the future as you and has been forced to leave possessions and loved ones behind. They now seek refuge and a new life in Denver.
To help this family resettle in the Denver area, ACC Staff and Arapahoe Stake volunteers will work together to:
•Secure an apartment and set it up with household furnishings.
•Meet the family at the airport and welcome them to their new home.
•Walk with the family as they navigate public transportation systems, health screenings, school enrollments, and employment applications.
•Provide cultural orientation and understanding of life in the Denver area.
•Work with the family to set goals and develop plans for education, employment, and well-being on their journey toward self-sufficiency and full integration in the community.
We will continue to work with new arrivals as they progress towards their goals and provide support where it's needed along the way.
This is a wonderful opportunity to make a positive and meaningful contribution to this family that will impact future generations. In addition, our community an state will enjoy the social, cultural, and economic contributions this family will bring.

Include "Arapahoe Stake Co-Sponsorship" on the memo of the check or on a note attached to the check so that it can be properly allocated.
Note that of the first $3000 donated, 50% will go to the Arapahoe Stake Co-Sponsor Family, 40% will support refugee families without a Co-Sponsoring orgainization and %10 is used for ACC overhead. For funds collected above $3000 90% goes to the Arapahoe Stake Co-Sponsor Family and 10% goes to ACC.
