We're excited to announce that we have reopened our Children's Museum in Breckenridge! New space, new name! Mountain Top Explorium has focused our efforts on recreating our STEM centered, hands-on exhibit space to encourage families to put down their screens and connect through play!
I took classes of pre-K kids there, and my grandchildren. Breckenridge NEEDS you!!!! There simply isn't enough to keep children involved in that encourages their curiosity and real life mixed with art. Hoping for a forever home.

We've been coming to your museum at least once a year for the past seven years. In truth, a big piece of why we continued to come to Breckenridge (and eventually bought two time shares here) instead of exploring other mountain towns is because of Mountain Top Children's Museum. When we needed a place for the kids to get the wiggles out, we knew exactly where to go. I'm willing to bet we're not the only family out there who chose to come to Breckenridge over and over again in no small part because of Mountain Top Children's Museum.

Mountain Top Explorium, formally Mountain Top Children's Museum, is a community resource designed to promote informal learning through interactive exhibits and educational programming that nurture relationships between children and their world.
Incorporated as a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization in 2002, the Mountain Top Children's Museum has provided quality programming and exhibits in the Summit County Colorado community for over 19 years. The Museum Exhibit space is an environment designed for hands on learning and engagement to promote authentic connections. Our Summer Day Camp program incorporates theme-based weeks emphasizing Art, Nature and STEM activities as well as outings to local, enriching entities. Kid's Night Out provides families with an affordable evening child care option with a well-balanced meal, conducted science-based experiments and projects, and interaction with Museum components. Our Community Outreach program brings science concept workshops to local elementary schools and child care organizations. Mountain Top also provides family friendly educational components to any community event.
After the pandemic shutdown, Mountain Top pivoted to provide our local families wrap-around child care to manage the school district's hybrid learning model. Our focus year-round was suddenly limited to only school-age programs, forcing us to rethink our name. We're happy to announce a new company name that encapsulates all we offer, Mountain Top Explorium! Come think outside the box with us!
