Testimonials

"What I love most about The Table is their sense of community. Everyone is always welcome to The Table and they are always there to support others any way that they can. It's not just about their wonderful gardens and their organic provisions, provided free of charge, but their investment of time, money and caring that is the bedrock of any truly successful neighborhood."
-Thomas Hartigan, Neighbor

"The way The Table organizes community to achieve a greater purpose inspires everyone they meet. Bringing individuals together to grow food, bringing food together to feed the community, bringing neighbors together to eat and share life...this is the essence of life as it should be. Not only do they provide nourishment, but they also provide beauty and character to our city."
-Jeff Shoemaker, Executive Director

"The Table has brought so much joy and good food into my life. I would have not met so many people in my neighborhood if it wasn't for The Table. What an amazing thing it is in my life to have people who care and make an effort to bring people together. It is so beautiful and I am so inspired! We need more of The Table in the world. I am so thankful to be able to be a part of it. Thank you!"
-Mary T., Veggie Bike patron

Mission

The Table grows as much food as possible to share with as many hungry people as possible. Utilizing organic-growing practices, we partner with private landowners in Denver to create a community of people committed to sharing the grace of free nourishment with our neighbors in need.

Background Statement

Launched in 2012 and organized in 2014, The Table has grown steadily in its effort to cultivate a community that is committed to helping address the hunger statistics in Denver. During that time, as a community we have converted dozens of lawns into gardens, utilized unsuspecting places - like driveways and parkways - to build raised beds, and we have grown and donated over 20,000 pounds of fresh produce to food banks, schools, families, and individuals in need. We receive many requests to create new gardens each year from willing neighbors with yard space. The desire to help indicates a felt need that we aim to address to a greater degree each year.
