Mission
New Genesis provides housing, food and social services to men, women and their families striving to become self-sufficient. Our blueprint for achieving this includes sobriety, stable employment and savings.
Background Statement
New Genesis was established as an improvement upon the concept of an emergency winter shelter for men in the Denver metro area. Instead of simply offering a bed for the night, a program was conceived that would challenge the homeless to achieve a life of self-sufficiency. Program guidelines were instilled and each client was given an individual service plan with clear-cut objectives to be met. Following this course of action, residents could move from emergency shelter to dormitory living to an apartment in aftercare until finally achieving the ultimate destination of independent living. Having laid the groundwork for a successful program and seeing the positive results in the homeless community, New Genesis has since expanded to assist women and parents with children as well.
