Contributions to CforSE enable research, education, and advocacy to accomplish our mission. CforSE is 100% funded by contributions of under 3% of our annual budget. The maximum contribution for 2022 is $2,400. This ensures our integrity as a grassroots org, not unduly influenced by any one donor.

Testimonials

Working for CforSE is the foundation my future is built on. As an Environmental Lawyer, I will probably be working for an NGO, fundraising will still be a big part of my work. Remembering to work from a community point of view will be very important in helping me pick which projects to focus on. At the end of the day, I hope to be like Fred; picking and choosing my battles, so I can help change the world, one step at a time." Julia Muench, canvassed 2010-2011. Graduate, Vermont Environmental Law School

Mission

Community for Sustainable Energy raises public awareness of local energy issues and organizes grassroots support for sustainable energy policies and practices throughout Colorado.

Background Statement

CforSE was founded in 2006 in Fort Collins, CO. Over the years we have worked on campaigns that have resulted in improved public transportation in Northern Colorado, increased access to energy efficiency assistance for lower income households, and a greater democratization of the solar economy through the promotion of community solar gardens. We knock on over 9,000 doors each year. We are now over 60,000 contributing members statewide. We have generated over 35,000 individual, personalized public comments to decision makers.
