The primary focus of HOPE (Homeless Outreach Providing Encouragement) Longmont is the full circle approach, assisting those experiencing homelessness with a full range of services to help them have a home and self sufficiency again.

Our SafeLot Safe Parking Program provides a safe parking lot for those reduced to sleeping in their cars. Many of these individuals and families go unseen, and are isolated, from the breadth of resources available to them to help them move back into housing. We are here as part of that solution.

Our first lot was opened in June of 2020 and quickly filled. We offer much more than a lot, we provide case management, rental assistance and house voucher support, hot showers and meals, job and medical assist, laundry, auto repair and every other kind of assistance that can catch those that are often new to being homeless and finding refuge in their cars. Our program includes those with barriers to traditional shelters as well, such as families and individuals with pets and PTSD.

In November 2016 HOPE introduced an emergency shelter service. Overnight guests were relieved to have a warm and safe place to sleep every night during the coldest months, regardless of the temperature. In previous years, emergency shelter was weather-activated and open only in severe conditions. Additional services included case management, showers, laundry, peer support and periodic medical clinics. Job training is an integral component of the shelter and people experiencing homelessness were hired as part-time staff. The goal of this 'first step' employment is to provide the skills, experience and confidence needed to find living-wage jobs.
