The Inclusive Technology Access Fund has helped many people supported by The Arc of Weld County become more comfortable with all sorts of electronic devices and programs. Since we have been working remotely for the past year and half, Kathi and Ryan had to make a big transition from working in the office to working remotely. Kathi and Ryan want to be sure other self-advocates have the same opportunities to be successful in our new virtual world. Your gift will help us provide technology access throughout our entire services region. Technology can include laptops, tablets and so much more. Here is what Kathi and Ryan have to say about our Inclusive Technology Access Fund.

Hello, my name is Kathi Sargent, Office Assistant and Community Ambassador for The Arc of Weld County. I've been working here for 13 years, and I had to overcome many challenges when we started working remotely because of the pandemic. I had to quickly learn how to get on meetings with Zoom and RingCentral, to communicate with my coworkers and the community through email, and how to do paperwork virtually. It has been a struggle, but it has also been very rewarding. I'm now part of a virtual self-advocacy group called Check in with Friends and I also learned new skills for online banking and shopping, which helps me stay safe during these times. My goal is to raise $450 to help people in my community who might need devices to stay connected with friends and work, just like I had to. Thank you for your donation, it means so much to me!

Hello! My name is Ryan Akers and I started working at The Arc of Weld County in 2014 and have been with the agency for 6 years before we had to start working remotely. When we started to work from home, I had to learn how Zoom worked, how to take calls with RingCentral, how to use SharePoint and so much more. I had a laptop that worked for a little bit until the camera broke. So, my supervisor had to quickly get me a new computer so I could still work remotely. Now I can continue my work sending and checking emails as well as attending Zoom meetings. In my free time I like to play games, download music, and stay connected with family and friends online. I'm hoping to raise $450 for our Inclusive Technology Access Fund so someone else may have the same virtual opportunities I have experienced. I would really appreciate your donation, as without you this wouldn't be possible. Thank you so much!
