Testimonials

Educators:
"As principal of Glenwood Springs High school, I have seen at close quarters the outstanding opportunities True Media Foundation offers school students. The important idea of real world learning is central to the BE HEARD! program. The fast pace of change in information technology and social media requires that students have the opportunity to participate in this field. In contrast with much high-school education, the program requires the kind of team skills and problem solving typical of the 21st century workplace."
Paul Freeman, Principal, Glenwood Springs High School

"Aside from the social and academic aspects of the program, there is a host of technological, interpersonal and leadership skills associated with this experience. All of the teens have a distinct role in the function, execution and success of a production."
Lisa Doherty, Media and English Instructor, Yampah Mountain High School

Parents:
" Our son, at the time he started the class, was wondering where he 'fit in.' By being in this class he was able to find an avenue to speak, to be heard by both his peers and the adult community. I would recommend this class for any teen looking to get into the media field or any student just needing something to help them find where they belong . . ."
Denise Gianinetti, Parent

"The teachers and volunteers with the program were excellent and offered many hours of education and guidance . . ."
Dennie Talbott, Parent

"I have not only had a child in the BE HEARD! program, but have worked with Executive Director, Christopher Tribble, as a client who employs him to shoot content for Pitkin County Government. While other programs in film and television production have emerged in the valley that tout their connection to youth, none have succeeded like TMF in exposing kids to live television, the Internet, interviews with nationally-known dignitaries, and all aspects of production . . ."
Pat Bingham, Pitkin County Community Relations

Students:
"True Media Foundation was a driving force in my life for most of high school. Now, as I enter my senior year at Emerson College studying broadcast journalism. I continue to reflect on how blessed I was to find an organization who taught me so much. if it were not for TMF, I would not have had a leg up in the college admission process. Going into college and already knowing how to film, edit, package and create a seamless story was instrumental in aiding my application and making my opportunities."
Christian Bergren-Aragon, Student, Emerson College

I did not realize just how much research went into a single show and I certainly wasn't aware of how much I would learn about teamwork, technology, business and the world . . ."
Allison Brown, Former TMF Student

I would like you to know how much working with True Media Foundation has changed my life. Before I was involved, I knew next to nothing about editing of any kind. Now i am experienced in on-location production, working with talent and clients, advanced editing, shooting live sports events, and creating motion graphics against a deadline for a live webcast. All of those things prepared me for the rigorous schedule at The Art Institute of Colorado. Additionally, the knowledge and the accompanying confidence I gained made it possible to apply to the Art Institute and attain a scholarship in the amount of $23,000."
Ben Collins, Former TMF Student

Non-profit Clients:
"I have seen the True Media Foundation formula succeed time and time again. We have been a client of theirs for over eight years and we have similar approaches to youth development. We have been nationally recognized together by winning a Telly Award for our "I am Financial Knowledge" workshop DVD for 5th graders produced by True Media Foundation. This DVD has educated over 1,000 local youth in the area of personal finance."
Kirsten Petre-McDaniel, President, YouthEntity
Winner of the Spencer & Julie Penrose Award for outstanding Not for profit in Colorado

Now that FMS "In the Blink of an Eye" video is a wrap and receiving accolades from our audiences, I want to thank True Media Foundation for a thoughtful and incisive response to our needs. I am especially impressed with the manner in which you are able to share your expertise with your young "interns," who are developing a talent far beyond their years!"
Karolyn Spencer, Director Feed MY Sheep Ministry

Community Leaders:
"There are many successes from the students that have been through the program. Their testimonials bear witness as nothing else can to how successful TMF's BE HEARD! program is...

Mission

Our mission is to mentor to youth produce media with positive social impact.

Background Statement

True Media Foundation began as the non-profit arm of Versatile Productions, Inc. (a full service video production company operating in Colorado's Roaring Fork Valley for over 30 years). Founder and Executive Director, Christopher Tribble, owner of Versatile Productions, has worked in the industry since graduating from Chico State University in California in 1980 with a degree in Instructional Technology. As technology advanced exponentially over the next decades, Tribble recognized that although young people could easily access the tools for making digital media, they were not learning the skills necessary to produce professional quality, socially impactful videos. True Media Foundation was born out of his desire to mentor and inspire motivated young media-makers and to provide real-world learning in video production at a high school level. Over the years, web integration and social media have been added to the curriculum. Our students have also had the unique opportunities to cover such events as the Aspen Environment Forum and the Democratic National Convention in Denver. We have been covered by two Denver network television news programs and by Aspen Public Radio.

Another aspect of True Media Foundation's work is to produce media for other non-profits. Over the years, we have produced fundraising, informational and training videos for many organizations in Colorado's Roaring Fork Valley. Our students are directly involved in these productions which allows them to put what they are learning into practice. Even more importantly, by virtue of working alongside other organizations that serve their community, our students are directly exposed to the special needs of others.
