$50,000 Goal

Nidia walked into El Nidito as a little girl in the Penguin room. Her parents both worked full time, and affordable care made that possible. Here she learned English, found teachers who made her feel safe, and discovered a second home. Today, Nidia is a teacher at El Nidito.

“Without El Nidito, my parents wouldn’t have been able to work and give us the life we have today.”

Room to Grow is our year end campaign for El Nidito, our bilingual early childhood program for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. The first five years shape how a child learns, speaks, and trusts for the rest of their life. Yet 80% of El Nidito families need tuition assistance to keep their child in our care. With state childcare assistance enrollment frozen and Early Head Start cut, the gap public funding once covered keeps growing, and donors like you are filling it.

Our Colorado Gives Day goal is $50,000, enough to cover a year of sliding scale tuition for ten children.

🌱 What Your Gift Supports

Your generosity creates a ripple of impact that reaches from our classrooms to the entire community. When you give, you help:

  • $50 provides diapers for a month for a child at El Nidito
  • $100 provides  car seats to children in the community.
  • $250 Supports our advocacy closet used by over 200 people annually.
  • $500 provides breakfast for a week for El Nidito children
  • $1,000 supports the El Nidito Scholarship Fund
  • $2,500 brings embedded occupational therapy to El Nidito children for a month
  • $5,000 covers one child’s sliding scale tuition for a full year
  • $15,000 provides a full year of tuition for a child at El Nidito

Every dollar you give plants the seeds for a lifetime of possibility.

What your support made possible last year

Last year, donors helped us award $152,036 in scholarships, serve 70 children, and celebrate 16 El Nidito graduates.

Who’s next?

Nidia was one of them. The next teacher, nurse, or community leader could be in our classrooms right now. Give early starting November 1, or schedule your gift for Colorado Gives Day on Tuesday, December 8. Every gift makes room.

This Colorado Gives Day, join us in creating change that lasts for generations. Your gift today helps elevate children, empower families, and strengthen the heart of our community.

Give now — and be part of a future where every family belongs, and every child can shine.

Testimonials

"Upon arriving in Fort Collins it was hard to start my life over. TFC/LF has become my family and I will forever be grateful".- Gabriela

"El Nidito provided me and my daughter Sophia with a safe and nurturing environment. I was unemployed and the Childhood Family Specialist assisted me with the Universal Pre-K and the Child Care Assistance program applications. Having access to affordable care allowed me to secure a new job, while my daughter makes new friends and gets ready for Kindergarten!- Maria

“ I love being the bridge for families and sharing stories or photos of their child. In that moment we get to bask in the love we both have for their child.”- Teacher

Giving Activity

Mission

Working alongside diverse families we provide high quality childcare and supportive services, with an emphasis on cultural attunement with the Latinx community.

Background Statement

Since 1995, TFC/LF has provided services and support to Fort Collins families while also working to improve the systems within which families learn, work, live and play. TFC/LF emerged from a coalition of community members concerned about maintaining and enhancing the quality of life for working families. The organization was established as part of Colorado's Family Initiative and is now one of 30 family resource centers in Colorado and the only one in northern Colorado. Bilingual staff work with families to co-create a shared vision based on strengths and assets within each family. Due to the diversity of its staff and intentional practices of being welcoming and inclusive, TFC/LF has emerged as a trusted and reputable organization for and among Hispanic/Latinx and Spanish-speaking community members, in addition to other populations of families who identify as racially and ethnically diverse.
