Supporting Timberline Adult Day Services
My wife, JoAnn Dauw, was introduced to Timberline Adult Day Services in January 2025. She had been diagnosed with advanced Alzheimer’s, and I was looking for a place where she would be welcomed, cared for, and able to enjoy meaningful social interaction.
The dedicated team of caregivers and leadership at Timberline exceeded my expectations. JoAnn was soon participating in and supporting community activities, including Meals on Wheels, Smart Bellies, and Senior Center lunches. She also enjoyed a wide variety of enriching experiences, including cycling, climbing, paddling, hiking, visits to the Botanic Gardens, Keystone Science School, and the Denver Butterfly Pavilion.
Timberline also gave me something deeply important: respite. I came to rely on the assurance that JoAnn was safe, engaged, and lovingly cared for while I took care of the many things I could not do while serving as her full-time caregiver.
JoAnn passed away in March 2026. I continue to support Timberline because I know firsthand the difference they make. Summit County relies on this much-needed service, and families like ours are stronger because of the care Timberline provides.
Timberline is the only nonprofit adult day respite program serving residents and visitors of Summit County. Their professional staff provides essential care five days a week, including socialization, activities, outings, care navigation, and respite for families and caregivers. Timberline proudly serves everyone, regardless of their ability to pay.
Through the Team JoAnn Dauw 2nd Annual Campaign, our goal is to raise $20,000. Reaching this goal will help Timberline continue delivering exceptional care, support, and enriching experiences to those who rely on their services every day.
