What is the Mile High Flight Program:
The Mile High Flight Program was established nearly 30 years ago by the Tuskegee Airmen organization in Denver with a clear and noble purpose: to inspire and empower the next generation of aviation, aerospace, and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) professionals. Recognizing the challenges faced by students from low-income and diverse backgrounds in pursuing careers within these sectors, the program’s chief objective is to offer practical hands-on training and mentorship to its participants.

What are the Mile High Flight Program’s Intended Outcomes, Effectiveness and Results:
The Mile High Flight Program aims to inspire local high school students to pursue academic and career goals in aviation, aerospace, and STEM. It seeks to ignite in the students enthusiasm for these fields and to show them that with commitment and planning they can achieve any goal.
Over 90% of the participants who complete phase 2 training move on to higher education and careers in related fields. Each year, we provide scholarships for outstanding students to gain the skills needed to pilot an aircraft. This opportunity is transformative.
Graduates of the Mile High Flight program are employed as pilots for multiple major airlines, as well as for the United States Air Force, Navy and the United States Marine Corps. Furthermore, many have chosen careers in aerospace, Air Traffic Control, and STEM fields.
What is the Mile High Flight Program's Phase-2 Fundraising Goal for 2025:
First, as a 501(c)(3) organization, we rely on donors’ generosity to fund and sustain our program. In 2025, rising costs for fuel, aircraft rentals, flight instructor fees, and aviation equipment upgrades are challenging our ability to offer four students practical phase-2 flight training.
Second, for the summer 2025 phase-2 training cycle, the Mile High Flight Program aims to raise $40,000 to support four student pilots in completing their 3-month training and earning their "Solo Pilot Wings."
Third, we encourage you to consider the sense of achievement these young students will attain as they pursue their aspirations, mastering piloting skills, developing self-confidence, and fostering an enduring interest in aviation. Imagine their satisfaction as they proficiently navigate through the sky, driven by enthusiasm and curiosity.
In conclusion, the Mile High Flight Program aims to continue to honor our Tuskegee Airmen legacy by offering its phase-2 students this vital training that fosters excellence and perseverance. Your financial support will significantly impact these students lives, while also ensuring the continuation of this valuable program.
We appreciate the support of each donor in our efforts to assist students. Your contributions are tax-deductible, and all funds are allocated towards flight training or related program expenses.
