This is a contest between 3 teams of JSO musicians and anyone who was invited to join their team by a team member. (can be anyone 18 and over)
Musicians may choose to join one of three teams: (those who play more than one instrument may choose one team only)
Participation in the team contest is voluntary but encouraged.
Teams are:
Team Lower Strings All JSO members in the viola, cello and string bass sections
Team Violins
Team Winds, Brass and Percussion
Contest Goal:
Be the team that has points for gifts made by NEW donors that gave to Colorado Gives Day from Nov. 1-Dec. 9.
A new donor is:
Someone who has never given to JSO during a past Colorado Gives event
Or, A JSO donor who made a gift NOT through the Colorado Gives link, but rather gave offline via cash, check, or with a ticket purchase. JSO Donors who gave online previously for a past Colorado Gives season are excluded for points
Current monthly giving donors are excluded for points (we have 9 recurring donors presently)
(JSO will of course accept any and all donations)
Scoring:
1 point for signing up to be on a team.
1 point to the team member for every donation made by a new donor from someone who donated through the team's fundraiser page
2 points to the team member for every NEW RECURRING donation made by a donor. (this can be a previous JSO donor, but just signed up for a NEW monthly gift. This gets double points because: The first gift of a New Monthly donation made to JSO during CO Gives season will be matched 100% for every new recurring gift. The match is up to $100 per donor.
Examples: a current one time JSO donor signs up to give $10 a month. First Bank will match that gift of $10. JSO receives a total of $130 per year ($120 from the donor plus $10 match for the first gift.)A new donor signs up to give $125 per month. First Bank will match that gift up to $100. JSO receives a total of $1600-$1500 from the donor and $100 match for the first gift.
JSO raised just over $20,000 from 107 donors from Nov 1-Dec 10, 2024.
This year's goal is $15,000.
