In September, Chinook Fund launched the Fall 2025 Alumni Grantmaking Committee. We are a cross-class, cross-race group of 14 Giving Project alumni, representing 5 different Giving Project cohorts ranging from Fall 2017 to Spring 2025! This fall we are reviewing grant applications and fundraising for the grantmaking pool. We will make final decisions in December.
As many organizations are facing funding cuts and being forced to scale back, Chinook Fund and the Fall 2025 Grantmaking Committe is stepping forward. We remain committed to funding groups working on a wide range of social change issues, including racial, economic, disability, immigrant, and LGBTQ+ justice because these issues demand action.
Over the past year, Chinook Fund has granted $497,000 to 69 organizations committed to long-term, local power building. Reaffirming a commitment to constituent-leadership, 93% of grantee organizations were BIPOC-led.
