Two Sisters vs. Fish, Biology, and Beer

We grew up tangled in fishing lines and falling into ponds long before we knew the difference between a trout and a bluegill. Somewhere along the way, Mia was told to put childish things aside, while I (Ali) found my way back to streams years later, this time with a fly rod in hand.

But our native Colorado Cutthroat Trout are in trouble, and I’ve convinced Mia to come out of "angling retirement" for the most ridiculous relay in the Rockies.

The Mission (Should we choose to survive it):

To raise money for Running Rivers, we are competing in a relay that requires:

  • 6 Miles of lung-burning trail running.

  • 3 Beers chugged (with varying degrees of grace).

  • 3 Fish caught and released.

Mia is currently practicing her "beer-to-casting" transition in the backyard with a ginger ale and a fly rod.  There have been several hooked shrubs and at least one very confused squirrel. I'm trying to get my chugging muscles toned by slamming a La Croix twice a day. It’s... not going well.

How You Can "Help" (Or just humiliate us):

We need to hit our fundraising goal to even step up to the starting line. To make it sweet, we’re selling ad space on our own skin:

  • The $100 "Tattoo Tier": Every $100 donation earns you the right to pick a temporary tattoo for us to wear on race day (Deadline April 24th!).

  • The Rules: No faces (we’re already shaky enough), and keep it PG-13.

  • The Goal: If we raise enough, we’ll look less like athletes and more like a high-speed, dehydrated sticker book.

  • All donations welcome, even if the Tattoo Tier is a bit steep for you, know that you are helping the fish!

Whether you want to see a hot dog on Mia’s bicep or your company logo on my shoulder, every cent goes directly to preserving the cold, clear streams our native trout call home.

Will Mia catch a fish before she catches a tree? Will I survive the "Chug and Chuck"? Donate now to Running Rivers and help us save the Cutthroat—one mile, one beer, and one ridiculous tattoo at a time.
