Support our Cherry Creek Schools Students!

I am an alum of Cherry Creek Schools.  I am privileged to serve on the Board of Directors of the Cherry Creek Schools Foundation.  I frequently hear, "Cherry Creek Schools doesn't need donations, they're a rich district".  Through my work on the Board, I have learned that this is definitely not the case!

I recently participated with the board in helping to fill one of the 31 pantries that exist in the Cherry Creek School District.  These pantries supply food, clothing, school supplies, shoes and personal hygiene items to our un-homed and underprivileged families, no questions asked.  For many families, this is one of the primary sources of their food supply, particularly with the vulnerability of the SNAP benefits.  Even my alma-mater, Cherry Creek High School has over 40 un-homed families.  

It's certainly easier to focus on your learning and excel in a school environment if your basic needs are already met and you're not focused on your hunger.  I spent $100 for our recent drive and purchased 600 toothbrushes and 20 tubes of toothpaste!  Even the smallest donation can make a huge difference.
