Dr. Alex and Dr. Alyssa have teamed up to compete in the HYROX Race Series in Denver on November 14th, 2026.
HYROX is an indoor global fitness race that combines 8 kilometers (~5 miles) of running with 8 functional workout stations.
Despite this being their first race, Alex and Alyssa have set a goal of completing the race in under 1 hour and 20 minutes. As part of the fundraiser for Big City Mountaineers if they finish the race in under their goal time, Resolute Physical Therapy will match 50% of all donations. If they don't beat their goal, Resolute PT will match 100% of the donations.
Why did Resolute Physical Therapy choose to support Big City Mountaineers? We really wanted to find a charity that supports active lifestyles in children, and what better way to inspire the next generation to be active then teaching them about exploring all that this beautiful state has to offer?
About the racers:
Alex (40) has a background in CrossFit and regularly trains in the functional workout stations including: Wall Balls, Sandbag Lunges, Burpee Broad Jumps, Sled Pushing, Sled Pulling, Rowing, and Ski Erg. He is an absolute liability when it comes to running.
Alyssa (28) has a background as a competitive long distance runner. She has recently run the New York City Marathon, the Erie (CO) Half-Marathon, and will be running the Baltimore Marathon this October. In addition to her running, she also trains the functional workouts as well.
Alyssa will set the pace, Alex will hope to keep up.
