Support HOLDTIGHT’s 2026 Season

Since 2022, HOLDTIGHT has been building un/tethered, a three-part performance trilogy exploring human and ecological interdependence. With together : un/tethered and alone : un/tethered both premiering to sold-out audiences in Denver — earning alone the title of “Best Dance Experience of 2024” (Westword) — we are now completing the final section: mother : un/tethered.

This last chapter has evolved from stage performance to film, weaving dance, music, and intimate storytelling to reflect how our relationships with our mothers and the experience as mothers, mirrors our relationship with the Earth. Our first Art-Documentary, mother : un/tethered, follows the stories of four main mother figures, all navigating their relationship with self, mother, and the earth. The film will premiere in Denver in Fall 2026 with subsequent screenings in NYC & festivals nationwide. Thanks to a $10,000 Denver Creates Grant, we are well on our way, but we need to raise another $15,000 to complete production and premiere the film in fall 2026. Your gift means composers, dancers, mother interviewee's, musicians, directors and crew get paid fairly; equipment, travel, editing and outreach get the resources they deserve; and this story gets rooted in Colorado while reaching national festivals and audiences. You’ll become part of a project that uses art as inquiry, invites collective reflection, and champions our planet and our shared humanity. 

Meanwhile, alone : un/tethered is headed to New York City, returning to HOLDTIGHT’s artistic roots and connecting new audiences to the emotional, ecological, and communal questions that define our work. Touring to NYC is not just a milestone but an opportunity to grow our national visibility, deepen partnerships, and ensure that Denver’s art scene continues to shine on a larger stage. We are also fundraising to help make this tour possible. 

Locally, HOLDTIGHT will also continue to offer our transformative Process + Express workshops (classes where creative movement and creative writing merge, open to all bodies and levels), and immersive performance collaborations with local restaurants, such as Wild Oscillation with plant-based restaurant Somebody People. These projects blur the line between art, food, and connection, celebrating Denver’s creative, ecological, and community-driven spirit.
