Help Preserve Denver's Stories

Every city has a story.
This is ours.

CityStory Denver is a community storytelling initiative that collects, preserves and shares the voices, memories and lived experiences of the people who make Denver unique. Through interviews, story collection events, community partnerships and digital storytelling, we are creating a living archive that reflects our city's history, culture and future, one story at a time.

Too often, the stories that shape our neighborhoods never become part of the historical record. They are shared around dinner tables, remembered by families or carried by longtime residents, then quietly disappear. CityStory Denver exists to ensure those stories are not lost.

Your generosity helps create opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to share their experiences, celebrate their communities and build stronger connections across Denver. Every contribution supports story collection events, community outreach, youth storytelling opportunities, volunteer training, digital preservation and free public access to stories that belong to all of us.

Your Gift Makes a Difference

When you support CityStory Denver, you are helping preserve local history while strengthening community understanding and belonging. Together, we can create a richer, more complete portrait of Denver, one that reflects not only major milestones, but also the everyday moments, traditions and voices that define who we are.

As a project of Empower Media Exchange, a Colorado-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, CityStory Denver is committed to ensuring that participation remains free, welcoming and accessible for everyone.
