Know Your Story…Tell Your Story is a two-week, full-day pilot program designed for middle school students who are curious, engaged, and eager to deepen their understanding of history, identity, and culture.

This immersive experience explores the African continent from the dawn of civilization through the rise of powerful kingdoms, and extends across the Atlantic to examine the Middle Passage, the arrival in the New World, and the lasting impact of these histories today. The program is facilitated by experienced educators who prioritize both academic rigor and a strong sense of belonging.

Students participate in a dynamic, interdisciplinary learning model that includes:

  • Standards-aligned lessons grounded in history, literacy, and cultural studies
  • Hands-on learning experiences through the arts, discussion, and collaborative projects
  • Guest speakers and artists who bring lived experience, expertise, and cultural relevance
  • Structured opportunities for identity exploration, reflection, and storytelling in a safe, supportive environment.

Together, we can ensure that students not only learn history—but see themselves within it, and feel empowered to tell their own story.
