This July, I will be participating in the Vermejo Park Flyathlon, which is a unique, conservation-minded race event that integrates three of the world's greatest activities; trail running, fly-fishing, and craft beer.

The premise is simple...

run. fish. beer.

Most importantly, the Vermejo Park Flyathlon is a fundraising event for coldwater conservation projects, with a focus on the New Mexico native Rio Grande cutthroat trout. We will be raising money through the Colorado-based 501(c)(3) organization, Running Rivers, which has raised nearly $1 million over the last ten years for native fish related work in Colorado, Iowa, North Carolina, and yes, New Mexico!

To give additional incentive to those who are considering donating, I will give away some hand-tied personal favorite small-stream flies to the highest donor.

Running Rivers firmly believes that the best way to ensure the preservation, protection, and maintenance of our irreplaceable public lands, waters, and native fish is to develop and foster the stewards who will stand up in their defense. By participating in this Flyathlon event and raising money for the Rio Grande cutthroat trout, I am part of this important mission.

And while they are a Colorado-based 501(c)(3), rest assured that funds raised through the Vermejo Park Flyathlon will be spent on projects in New Mexico!!!

Thank you for considering supporting my Flyathlon fundraiser!
