Every dollar raised helps close the gap to keep CAP Class free and accessible for all AMS students.
This year, Angevine Middle School is partnering with Cottonwood Institute to bring the award-winning Community Adventure Program (CAP) to our students. CAP is more than a class—it’s an experience that connects young people to the outdoors, their community, and their own power to make a difference.
CAP inspires students to explore the natural world, tackle real environmental challenges, and build leadership skills through:
- Hands-on learning in the classroom through projects like stream quality testing
- Outdoor field days, overnight camping trips, with activities like rock climbing and fishing
- Student-led Action Projects, like a last year’s fundraiser to support wildlife rehabilitation– that create real environmental change in our community
This program is offered at no cost to families, ensuring access for students who might not otherwise have the opportunity.
“My Cottonwood Institute program has helped me grow as a person. I’ve met so many people who’ve made lasting impacts on me, and learned so many skills for working with other people and being outside.” — CAP Student
Why Your Support Matters
It costs about $1,700 per student to run CAP for a semester, including instruction, transportation, food, gear, and materials. AMS and Cottonwood Institute are working hard to cover as much as possible, but we need your help to bridge a $5,000 gap.
Your donation helps cover:
- Safe transportation for field days and overnight trips
- Nutritious meals and snacks for all students
- High-quality gear and equipment
- Materials for student Action Projects
- Expert instruction and curriculum design
Every dollar ensures that no student misses out due to financial barriers.
