Latinx Therapist Project CO – Our Story

In Colorado, thousands of Latino families face a critical gap when seeking mental health support: a shortage of bilingual and culturally aligned clinicians who understand their lived experiences. For many, language barriers and a lack of representation prevent them from accessing the care they deserve.

Latinx Therapist Project CO (LTP) was created to change that reality. We are committed to building a strong pipeline of bilingual and culturally responsive mental health professionals who reflect and serve our communities. Our work focuses on supporting Latinx and Spanish-speaking graduate students and early-career clinicians through: 

• Recruitment – Encouraging Latinx students to pursue mental health careers.

• Mentorship – Connecting students and clinicians with experienced professionals.

• Therapy Education & Events – Providing workshops, summits, and professional development.

• Community Building – Creating spaces of support, collaboration, and belonging.

• Directories (Graduate & Employment) – Linking students, clinicians, and employers with culturally aligned opportunities.

Every one of these efforts is about removing barriers and ensuring that future therapists are not only well-trained, but also able to thrive and serve their communities.
